HoodBaby Soul was founded by owner and operator, Sade Royal, with one goal in mind: Bringing classically familiar, yet forward-thinking Soul Food to Los Angeles’ San Fernando Valley.
A Los Angeles native and proud mother of four, Sade considers cooking to be a tradition in her family. The art of crafting truly delicious Soul Food was passed down from her grandmother to her mother, and from her mother to Sade. And Sade fully intends to pass along the tradition to her children. In turn, keeping the collective knowledge of her rich and beautiful cultural heritage alive for generations to come.
Sade launched HoodBaby Soul Food restaurant to honor her mother and father, Rachel + Ronald, and grandmother, Mae, and share the magic they gifted to her with the world. Magic that overflows from every bit of HoodBaby’s amazing Soul Food delights!
As truly delicious as Soul Food happens to be, it’s not necessarily known as the healthiest cuisine. HoodBaby, however, is crafting a new brand of Soul Food. With a move toward organic ingredients, vegetarian options, and even Keto Diet offerings – HoodBaby aims to create meals that not only taste divine but are good for your body, too.
